A little kindness, hidden in plain sight
Find a stone.
Feel a smile.
Hide it again.
We're hiding hand-painted Happy Stones around town — small rocks with kind words and a bit of color. If you find one, it's yours for a moment. Snap a photo, share the joy, then hide it again for someone else to discover.
What's a Happy Stone?
Happy Stones are part of the wider "kindness rocks" tradition — smooth stones painted with bright colors, uplifting words, or simple doodles, then left out in public for strangers to stumble upon. No app, no sign-up, no cost. Just a small, unexpected bit of good tucked onto a park bench, a windowsill, or a tree stump.
Hand-painted
Each stone is painted by hand, so no two are ever quite alike.
Hidden nearby
Left in everyday places around town — parks, cafés, trailheads, doorsteps.
Meant to travel
Keep it, or hide it again somewhere new and let the journey continue.
How it works
-
1
Find a stone
Keep an eye out on your walks — Happy Stones turn up in the most ordinary places.
-
2
Snap & share
Take a photo where you found it and share it on Instagram so others can enjoy the moment too.
-
3
Hide it again
Pass it on — leave it somewhere new for the next person to discover, or start a new stone of your own.
Ground rules
- Keep it, hide it, or gift it — there's no wrong way to enjoy a Happy Stone.
- Leave stones in safe, public, legal spots. Never on private property without permission.
- Be kind in your messages and photos — that's the whole point.
- If you paint your own, we'd love to see it too — tag us when you share.
